The ABCs of adult Sunday school: renewing Christian education

It’s Sunday morning. Worship doesn’t start for an hour, but there’s a buzz of excitement in the air. In one class, a group of seven discuss the challenges of single parenting following a video. In another, half a dozen adults are engrossed in a passage from Mark, busily circling and underlining text on photocopied pages. A little further down the hall, there’s an explosion of laughter from the young adults class, before a lively discussion on vocation resumes.

It’s Sunday morning. This is a vision of what things are—or could be like—at an adult Sunday school near you.
