Democrats need to rethink abortion views

Kristen Day is a pro-life Democrat and she is not alone.

It used to seem that way, however.

"When I started becoming active in the Democratic Party, I almost felt like you couldn't be pro-life in the Democratic Party," she said. "I thought I was the only one."

Day got active in Democratic Party politics when she was a student at Michigan State University during in 1998. She's worked in Washington, D.C., for several years for different Democratic congressmen and she's been increasingly saddened to see activists push her party out of power and out of the mainstream of American life because of a vehement opposition to pro-life views by special interest groups.
