This Election

Two days from now, America will have a choice regarding the path this country will take for the next four years. We will either be on a path for bigger government, higher taxes, high unemployment, slower job growth, and a feeling of resignation that America has seen better days or we we can be on a new, but proven path with a recipe for freedom, liberty, optimism, and...restoration of American prestige and exceptionalism in the world.

In 3 days we should know the outcome of this election. If Obama wins, think about this. What exactly will those who voted for Obama be celebrating? Will they celebrate the fact that we’ll round out the year with two more months of 7.9% (or higher) unemployment? Will they find out finally from the mainstream media the true incompetency of our foreign policy and how our Ambassador was killed and why our government failed in its obligation to react to this situation to save lives? Will they celebrate that Obama, without the threat of election pressures, will reveal himself as an unchained progressive with little need or incentive to reach across the aisle as a consensus builder? Think deeply if you enjoy government bureaucrats involved in many more aspects of your lives. When you have a problem, who do you go to for resolution? Do you want unelected, unaccountable Czars circumventing the role of Congress as a check and balance to the Executive branch of government? It won’t take long before that feeling of buyer’s remorse sets in particularly as we roll into 2013. At this point, the impacts of Obamacare will become plainly evident in the form of higher taxes and the truly massive government intrusion into the most personal aspects of our lives. Finally, the impact of the national debt growing to well over $20 trillion dollars by 2016 is a certainty. Cast your vote for Obama, and Obama wins? Think about what will you be celebrating?

This election is KEY and is a turning point for America. America must change the path we are on. True change requires a strong change agent. That person is Mitt Romney. For low information voters (not a pejorative), the negative and divisive image of Mitt Romney painted by the Obama team does not stand up to scrutiny and reasonableness. The reasons I am voting for Romney are based on a multitude of successful life accomplishments. People who are against Romney argue it’s because he is “Rich” and all the connotations that “Rich” entail. I prefer to focus on “Successful”. Mitt Romney has been successful in every major endeavor in his life. Don’t get me wrong, I am referring to the general arc of his life and do not mean to infer that he hasn’t had setbacks or less than perfect judgment. We all are guilty of the latter. Mitt Romney was successful in his personal life because he values religion, family, and country. He has given of himself personally and through his church. I can identify with that. He has built successful businesses from the ground up without the help of “government”. Building successful business means job creation which is THE most critical issue in this election. He was asked to leave the business he created, to resolve a crisis with the Salt Lake City Olympics. He was wildly successful in that endeavor. He ran for governor of Massachusetts and won in the most liberal state in the nation.  His success as governor is evident in achievements in closing a state budget deficit and then turning it into a budget surplus. He did this while dealing with a state legislature that was 87% democratic, remarkable! I admire that and understand that bridges need to be built across the political aisle. This will be critical for the next 4 years.

I am urging all to think carefully about our country’s future. Will we leave our next generation of children and grandchildren saddled with unimaginable debt, poor job prospects, and most importantly a belief that freedom, liberty, and opportunity have been diminished in America? If so, your vote is for Obama.

 However:

If you believe that this election is a defining moment for our country.

If you believe that this country is built on the opportunity to succeed.

If you believe that this country needs a return to its founding principles and to continue to be a leading force for freedom in the world.

If you believe in a strong national defense against those seeking to destroy our values.

If you are looking for an individual with integrity, strong moral values and a belief in God and Country….

Your choice is Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan. This is why I am voting for Romney/Ryan and why I urge you to do the same. I am also urging you through all means possible to actively solicit your friends and family to do the same and create a groundswell of turnout for this election.

 Thank you.  image
