First Things: InterVarsity Christian Ministry in Trouble for Acting Christian  To protect against discrimination, liberals increasingly seek to discriminate. News broke over the weekend that all twenty-three schools within the California State University system have taken steps to “derecognize” InterVarsity Christian Fellowship (IVCF), a para-church Christian ministry organization that’s had a longstanding presence within university life religious settings.
What is Intervarsity’s crime? Christian orthodoxy. According to IVCF,

This new CSU policy does not allow us to require that our leaders be Christian. It is essentially asking InterVarsity chapters to change the core of their identity, and to change the way they operate in order to be an officially recognized student group.

To be fair, these ministries Christians are not banned from campus. They’re simply “derecognized,” which is a bureaucratic way of saying, “You’re Not Welcome.”...

Rotherham’s Collaborators
Two weeks ago, the British press broke the news contained in Professor Alexis Jay’s “Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Exploitation in Rotherham.” Between 1997 and 2013, Jay estimated, 1,400 young girls in that Yorkshire town were exploited: gang-raped, trafficked to other cities, threatened, beaten, and forced to bring other girls into the network. The police did not respond to emergency calls from the girls and their families; fathers reported being threatened and even arrested for complaining. The victims and the authorities knew that “by far the majority of perpetrators” were “Asian,” meaning Pakistani/Kashmiri Muslims, who constitute about 3.7 percent of Rotherham’s population of 260,000. Members of this group dominate the town’s taxi industry, and therefore had easy access to victims. The perpetrators were not merely pimps: They also dealt drugs and sold guns. Yet during the 17-year period she studied, Jay found, “councillors did not engage directly with the Pakistani-heritage community to discuss how best they could jointly address the issue.”...

Not just the pretty babies 
...Abortion is a terrible thing. Yet as we fight to protect our weakest citizens from death in their mother’s womb, we must remember we cannot guarantee them happy endings. The babies whom we wish to save will not all be happy, healthy children who will be adopted by picture-perfect, loving families. Some of them will grow up in tragic circumstances. Some will suffer tragic illnesses. All of them, one way or another, will face the brokenness of life in this world. Knowing this, all we can do is give. Barbarism takes. Civilization gives. It is the essence of civilization to say that the weakest, least beautiful among us are precious beings who must be protected, even when this requires sacrifice from the strong.

That is what pro-life means.

College campuses resemble closed countries
...First of all, campus ministries are taking a big hit. Why should you care? Greg Jao of InterVarsity says, “The future leaders of every business, almost every church, ever government institution, every culture-shaping institution of the future, are college students today.”

Jao says that people who care about the beliefs and motives of the future leaders of America should recognize that “if college students encounter the Gospel and have their lives changed, their future will change.”

And not only their future, but the future of this country. And if that’s not enough to catch your interest, consider this: “The issues we’re facing on campus around non-discrimination and how religious may religious groups be is part of a larger conversation that’s occurring all over the country in a lot of different areas–at work places, in businesses, as well as communities.”...

Ebola Spreading 'Exponentially' as Patients Seek Beds in Liberia The Ebola virus is spreading exponentially across Liberia as patients fill taxis in a fruitless search for medical care, the World Health Organization said Monday.

In Sierra Leone, a doctor working for WHO tested positive and was preparing to be evacuated from the country. Meanwhile, the newest U.S. patient, a doctor infected in Liberia, was feeling a little better and could even eat a little, doctors treating him in Nebraska said.

The various reports illustrated in the clearest possible way the disparities driving the epidemic in West Africa, where there’s almost no medical system structure. The three patients evacuated to the United States have all begun to recover quickly once they get good supportive care, which includes around-the-clock nursing care and good nutrition...

Now that ISIS is Threatening to Kill Twitter Employees, maybe Twitter will Stop Hosting Terrorist Accounts  ...Now that the terror is hitting home, maybe Twitter will finally stop hosting terrorist accounts. Aside from ISIS, Hamas and Hezbollah are both on Twitter.

Twitter also insisted on keeping the Taliban up because they weren’t an official terrorist group.
