California's Bully Federalism; Fictitious Forgiveness...more

California's Bully Federalism: Travel Ban Seeks To Impose Its Policies On Other States    ...Except that California, in its superior wisdom and with its superior power, has decided that its laboratories are right and other state laboratories and cultures are wrong in this matter. California’s travel ban smacks of the sort of elitism—we will not even visit your state with our money—that has soured the electorate. And indeed, if I lived in one of those eight states, as I once did, which kind of power would I rather be subject to: federal power, where I at least have a voice and a vote, or California power, where I have no say at all? Is it really California’s place to tell Kansas what kind of policies it should have?...

Fictitious Forgiveness: Why We Cannot Forgive Ourselves ...The person who says, “I just can’t forgive myself,” may have ascended to the throne of judgment and declared himself to be his own judge. In this case, the expression “I can’t forgive myself” is equivalent to saying, “I’m in the role of Judge and will dispense forgiveness as I decide.” Such a person has convened the court, rendered a verdict upon himself, and now believes that he must grant the needed pardon. That’s the source of the problem. But, this is akin to an individual who commits a murder serving as his own prosecutor, jury, and judge. He convenes the court. He adjudicates himself for himself. But it doesn’t work this way. This is all rooted in a high view of self.

And this tactic will not solve the problem. Man is hard-wired to know that he is not the Absolute. The Bible teaches that God alone is Judge (Ps. 7:11, 50:4-6). Moral violations are first and foremost against him (cf. Ps. 51:4). Thus, the self-forgiveness dilemma is one of fictitious forgiveness. The real problem is a failure to embrace God as Judge...

UK Jewish school risks closure for refusal to teach LGBT issues   An all-girls Ultra-Orthodox (haredi) school in London risks closure after failing a third inspection in the space of just over a year by the Office of Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills (commonly referred to as Ofsted).

These failures stem in large part from the school’s refusal to teach about a range of LGBT-related issues including homosexuality and gender reassignment...

CNN’s Month-Long Nightmare
The last 30 days have been nothing short of a public relations nightmare for CNN.

The network is reeling after a brutal stretch that has seen two hosts taken off-air, one story retracted and another rewritten, accusations of staged protests, the resignations of three key employees and most recently, an ongoing series of undercover videos meant to portray CNN as misleading the public about the Trump-Russia stories that have dominated media coverage of the president so far.

Late on Tuesday, May 30, TMZ published images of CNN’s New Years Eve co-host, Kathy Griffin, taking part in a photoshoot with a mock severed head of President Trump. The story quickly blew up. Influential news aggregator Matt Drudge placed CNN’s ties to Griffin front and center on his site, the Drudge Report....

Activity at the sun set to 'change form' as solar minimum approaches   The sun is heading into a period known as solar minimum, during which activity at the surface will ‘change form.’
In this time, certain types of activity, such as sunspots and solar flares will drop – but, it’s also expected to bring the development of long-lived phenomena including coronal holes.

According to NASA, solar minimum could also enhance the effects of space weather, potentially disrupting communications and navigation systems, and even causing space junk to ‘hang around.’...

Arrest made after Ten Commandments monument at Arkansas Capitol toppled, shattered   A 6-foot-tall stone Ten Commandments monument installed Tuesday on the Arkansas Capitol grounds was toppled less than 24 hours later after a 32-year-old Arkansas man drove a vehicle into the statue, apparently while streaming the act live on Facebook, officials said.

Chris Powell, a spokesman with the secretary of state's office, said he was called early Wednesday and told a man drove a vehicle through the monument. That driver — identified in an arrest report as Michael Tate Reed of Van Buren — was arrested by Capitol police shortly after, Powell said. News reports indicate Reed was previously accused of destroying a Ten Commandments monument in Oklahoma...

Albert Mohler: Religious Freedom and Discrimination; Chastity, family life and the future of religious freedom...more

Albert Mohler: Religious Freedom and Discrimination: Why the Debate Continues    This is a first for me—writing a book review while flying over the northern reaches of the Atlantic Ocean. I’m returning to the United States after responsibilities in the United Kingdom, speaking mostly to pastors and other Christian leaders. Everywhere I went, from central London to rural Kent, the same urgent question was asked: “Can religious liberty survive the LGBTQ moral revolution?”

Winston Churchill famously believed in the basic cultural unity of those he called the “English-speaking peoples,” meaning, most specifically, Britain and the United States. We’ve historically shared a basic commitment to moral truths including human dignity and liberty, and these commitments have been enshrined in our laws and social life. But Christians in both countries now face the prospect of a disastrous collision between the new sexual liberty prized by the LGBTQ revolution and religious liberty—long recognized in the United States as the first and most foundational freedom.

Long before the Obergefell decision legalized same-sex marriage, the inevitability of the collision was anticipated by both sides in the debate. LGBTQ advocates had already made clear their intention to advance from the legalization of same-sex marriage to press for the inclusion of sexual orientation and gender identity (SOGI) in all relevant civil rights laws and regulations. Even then, the collision with religious liberty was inevitable. Even then, we were warned religious liberty would have to give way to newly constructed and judicially mandated sexual liberties...

Chastity, family life and the future of religious freedom   ...Chastity is now central to the public argument for religious freedom because such families need their freedom of association and freedom of action to raise the next generation to live the same strong family life. They need freedom to teach their own way of life: marriage till death do us part, and raising their children to do the same. Much as the Amish fought and won their freedom of association and way of life, so too other religious communities are now finding they too must fight and win a freedom which they had assumed was theirs without asking. It had been so. It is no longer.

If we want our religious freedom we have to be able to make the argument for teaching chastity as a way of life, not as a “risk reduction strategy”. Chaste family life is easy to defend in the public debate because it is far superior to all other ways, by any measure of human thriving. Teenagers (who have yet to experience life and learn its hard lessons by experience) need to understand that there are lifelong consequences for “sowing wild oats”, as the most important chart in all the social sciences makes clear...

111 terminally ill patients took their own lives in first 6 months of California right-to-die law ...A snapshot of the patients who took advantage of the law mirrors what’s been seen in Oregon, which was the first state to legalize the practice nearly two decades ago. Though California is far more diverse than Oregon, the majority of those who have died under aid-in-dying laws in both states were white, college-educated cancer patients older than 60...

Petya ransomware slams Windows PCs shut in massive attack   ...The malware forces an infected PC to reboot as soon as it finishes encrypting files, so you'll see the ransom demands as soon as possible. Researchers at Recorded Future said there's also a hidden Trojan on Petya that steals victims' usernames and passwords.

This is the second global ransomware attack in the last two months. It follows the WannaCry outbreak that ensnared more than 200,000 computers, locking up hospitals, banks and universities. Like WannaCry, the GoldenEye and Petya attacks affect only computers running the Windows operating systems.

Microsoft released patches for all Windows operating systems after the global outbreak, but people who've updated their computers could still be affected, according to Anomali, a threat intelligence company. That's because Petya can also spread through Office documents, taking advantage of yet another vulnerability and combining it with similar wormholes a la WannaCry...

Oregon House Kills Bill Which Allows Starving Mentally Ill Patients The Oregon state House recently killed a piece of legislation which was widely condemned by pro-life groups. According to LifeNews, the bill (designated Senate Bill 494) would have allowed for the starving and dehydration of mentally ill patients past the point of death. Though first introduced as a “simple update” to existing to Oregon’s current healthcare, the bill removed vital safeguards which put patients (particularly those with dementia) at risk. After being effectively struck down by the House Judiciary committee, the pro-life group Oregon Right to Life issued this statement,

“We are so thankful to our pro-life Oregon senators who stood so strongly against SB 494 and gave momentum to the opposition, which our pro-life House representatives then use to help send SB 494 to a dead end. Had this bill become law it would have been used to end the lives of innocent Oregonians who are not in the active dying stage but are afflicted with mental illness. Thousands of Oregonians wrote to their legislators expressing horror about this bill that exemplifies just how extreme Oregon’s politicians have become.”...

New study bolsters Trump’s claim of rampant vote fraud    A new study has concluded that as many as 5.7 million noncitizens may have voted in the 2008 election won by Barack Obama, giving credence to President Trump’s much-maligned claim that more than 3 million illegal-alien voters cost him the nationwide popular vote last November.

A research group in New Jersey, Just Facts, announced it found that after examining post-election polling data, the number of noncitizens voting illegally in U.S. elections is likely far greater than previous estimates, the Washington Times reported...

I guess eight years with an emasculated president wasn’t enough for American culture. Now we’re going to give Barbie a boyfriend who will be happy to go with her to the Ladies’ Literary Society and take her last name if and when their domestic partnership ever takes on legal status - which is no better than a “committed relationship,” you understand.

Come to think of it, why not make Ken gender-fluid? It’s all the rage these days, and with the latest announcement, Mattel is coming awfully damn close...

Queen Elizabeth Honors Hymn Writer Keith Getty with Award   Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II honored hymn writer Keith Getty this week as an Officer of the Order of the British Empire.

The award recognizes Getty for his contribution to “Music and Modern Hymn Writing.” It is the first time that the award has been given to an individual in the world of contemporary church music, according to CharismaNews.com.

“When I first received the call, I was shocked,” Getty said. “As a Brit living in America, it is an incredible gift to receive from home, especially given the long history of the award and the legacy of individuals who have received it. It is also wonderful to see hymnody and the great hymn-writing heritage I am from in the U.K. be recognized in this way. I am very grateful to her Majesty, the Queen for this honor."...

Christian School Told They Can’t Teach ‘Offensive’ Scripture  Evangelical Christians are under fire as an Alberta school board is demanding a Christian school stop teaching “offensive” scripture that indicts homosexuality as a sin, the National Post reports.

The offending passage is from 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, which states: “Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.”

The Battle River School Division (BRSD) first asked Cornerstone Christian Academy, not far from the Alberta capital of Edmonton, to remove the scripture from the school’s statement of faith. They also asked that the word “quality” be redacted from the mission statement that the school offers “quality educational programming.”...

Christian Reflections on Ontario Bill 89 ...A major concern is that the Bill seems to give the government the right to remove children from the custody of their parents, if it is believed that the parents are harming a child by failing to properly respect the child’s, “race, ancestry, place of origin, colour, ethnic origin, citizenship, family diversity, disability, creed, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression.” Although it is uncertain exactly how this Bill will be interpreted and applied, Bill 89 clearly presents new considerations (e.g. gender identity and gender expression) for the courts and children’s services to take into account when they determine what is in a child’s best interest and whether the child is being fully supported by their care-givers.

It seems that the religious beliefs of the parents are superseded by the child’s “creed,” and the child is the one who autonomously self-identifies both their gender and how they wish to express their gender. If the parents are deemed insufficiently supportive of their children’s decisions, they may risk having their children removed from their care. It is necessary for the followers of Jesus Christ to think carefully and biblically about the times in which we live. Although there isn’t space to present a thorough treatment of the issues, what follows are four points for preliminary reflection...

Why are there so many Different Interpretations of the Bible? The Problem of “Pervasive Interpretive Pluralism”  Back in April of this year, at the national conference of the Gospel Coalition, Kevin DeYoung addressed the question of why there appear to be so many different interpretations of the Bible? If the Bible is inspired and sufficient, why do so many Christians disagree with one another on particular texts and topics? The language of “pervasive interpretive pluralism” was first used by author Christian Smith, who recently converted to Roman Catholicism. Kevin’s message was excellent, but I thought I would add to what he said with a few observations of my own.

Let’s begin with the important concession that this is a problem that all people face, regardless of their religious affiliation. It is not solely a Protestant problem. Anyone who thinks there is monolithic and always unified interpretation in the Roman Catholic Church is simply uninformed. Not only is this a problem in all families of the Christian faith, it is a problem in all spheres of earthly existence. In other words, this isn’t simply a religious problem, it is a human problem that infects every discipline of study and every work of literature that we read. Nevertheless, it is especially present in Christianity because we affirm that our “work of literature”, the Bible, is inspired, inerrant, authoritative, and sufficient...

But once inside, police made the grisly discovery that Kermit Gosnell's medical office was something much worse.

Britain is no longer a liberal country   Tim Farron resigned this week as leader of the Liberal Democratic Party for a shocking reason. He was hounded from office because he held traditional Christian views.

“The consequences of the focus on my faith is that I have found myself torn between living as a faithful Christian and serving as a political leader,” he said. “To be a leader, particularly of a progressive liberal party in 2017 and to live as a committed Christian and to hold faithful to the Bible’s teaching has felt impossible for me.”

Full Text of Justin Welby’s Letter to the Primates

By David Ould
June 12, 2017

Here is Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby’s letter to the Primates of the Anglican Communion.
Welby’s letter responds to the announcement by GAFCON that they will be consecrating a missionary bishop for Europe in response to the decision by the Scottish Episcopal Church to change the definition of marriage.
The letter stresses that
  • there have been no changes in the doctrine of the Church of England with regard to human sexuality
  • that the way in which the CofE has dealt with the consecration of women (appointing a bishop to give oversight to those who disagree) is a model for how to retain a place for “those with differing views”. That bishop, Rod Thomas, has however openly rejected the SEC’s decision and declared himself to be out of communion with them.
  • “historical resistance” to cross-border interventions since “the earliest years of the universal Church’s existence” (citing canons 15 and 16 of the Council of Nicaea and Lambeth 1988.72)
Conservatives will note that Welby appears far more concerned about the disturbances that cross-border initiatives apparently cause than the gross heresy that catalyses them. In fact, Welby’s letter makes no specific mention of the SEC vote, the very event that has precipitated this current crisis.
As we have already reported, Welby had rejected specific requests by conservatives in the Scottish Episcopal Church for support in the face of the imminent decision by their General Synod. Now he criticises those who provided the support he was not prepared to give. the rest-letter

Bernie Sanders Doesn’t Think Christians Are Fit For Public Office

Bernie Sanders Doesn’t Think Christians Are Fit For Public Office While the nation’s capital was twittering with excitement on Wednesday about former FBI Director James Comey’s testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee, something far more outrageous was underway in another Senate hearing: Sen. Bernie Sanders, in a blatant violation of Article VI of the U.S. Constitution, was
applying a religious test for an office of public trust.

Specifically, Sanders doesn’t think Christians are fit to serve in government because they’re bigots. Basic Christian theology, in Sanders’s view, “is indefensible, it is hateful, it is Islamophobic, and it is an insult to over a billion Muslims throughout the world.”...

Bernie Sanders Attacks Wheaton Grad’s Stance on Salvation While Sanders accused Vought of being Islamophobic and making statements that are “indefensible” and “hateful,” Christian onlookers saw the senator applying a religious test to deem an orthodox evangelical unfit for office.

Sanders’s line of questioning was quite different than the initial debate launched by the Wheaton-Hawkins situation, which focused on whether Christians and Muslims worship the same God. Instead, Sanders pushed back against a principle that is not up for debate within the realm of Christian orthodoxy: the belief that salvation is only secured through Christ.

“I don’t know how many Muslims there are in America. I really don’t know, probably a couple million. Are you suggesting that all of those people stand condemned? What about Jews? Do they stand condemned too?” demanded Sanders, himself a secular Jew. “I understand that Christianity is the majority religion. But there are other people who have different religions in this country and around the world. In your judgment, do you think that people who are not Christians are going to be condemned?”

Scottish Episcopalians revise canon law to permit gay marriage

by Hattie Williams
08 June 2017

THE Scottish Episcopal Church’s General Synod voted on Thursday to allow its clergy to solemnise marriages for same-sex couples in church. After two hours of respectful and emotional debate in St Paul’s and St George’s, Edinburgh, the Synod gave final approval to a revised Canon 31 on the solemnisation of holy matrimony.

The first two clauses of Canon 31 — containing the doctrinal statement that marriage is to be understood as a “physical, spiritual and mystical union of one man and one woman” — were deleted, and replaced with a single conscience clause to ensure that no cleric would be obliged to officiate against his or her conscience... the rest

Scottish Anglican Network: Fellowship impaired by Scottish vote
The Scottish Anglican Network is a movement of Christians - including clergy and laity - within the Scottish Episcopal Church who are seeking to follow the teaching of Jesus Christ, and therefore to retain and restore the Bible to the heart of Anglican churches in Scotland.

Today the General Synod of the Scottish Episcopal Church approved an amendment to its canons in order to change its doctrine of marriage and permit same-sex weddings to be celebrated by nominated clergy in its churches.

We completely disagree with this action...

David Ould: GAFCON Announce New Missionary Bishop for Europe  GAFCON have officially announced their intention to consecrate a missionary bishop for Europe at a press conference deliberately placed to juxtapose with the Scottish Episcopal Church’s vote to change the definition of marriage.

The full statement, given by Archbishop Foley Beach of the Anglican Church in North America (ACNA), is available on the GAFCON website [pdf]...

Added:
Canon Phil Ashey: The GAFCON Missionary Bishop for Scotland and Europe On Friday June 30, 2017, the Rev. Canon Andy Lines will be consecrated in Wheaton Illinois (USA) at the Third Provincial Assembly of the Anglican Church in North America (ACNA), the Most Rev. Dr. Foley Beach Presiding. The consecrating Bishops will be acting on behalf of the Global Anglican Future Conference (GAFCON), and Canon Lines will become its first Missionary Bishop to Europe.

Canon Andy Lines’ consecration will not be irregular or invalid.  His Holy Orders in the Province of South America have been duly and lawfully transferred to, and likewise received by, the ACNA. He will be consecrated by acting primates, archbishops and bishops of the Anglican Communion. His consecration will fall within the historical tradition of faithful Bishops who have created order in the Church during times of crisis. These are times when faith and doctrine have been threatened by others’ failure to guard against false teaching—or worse, have actively promoted such false teaching. One can trace this all the way back to Athanasius and the crisis of Arianism in the early Church. Faithful bishops like Athanasius disregarded the boundaries and autonomy of Arian dioceses in order to consecrate Biblically faithful bishops for Biblically faithful Christians. The consecration of a missionary bishop by GAFCON for Europe is as much an emergency as the consecrations that Athanasius and other faithful bishops performed, and just as necessary to guard the faith and order of the Church and prevent spiritual harm to biblically faithful Christians.

We call these emergencies “exigent circumstances.” Although this is a legal term used in criminal courts for circumstances in which the potential death of a victim, flight of a felon or destruction of evidence justifies an emergency search or seizure that overrides the freedom, autonomy and constitutional rights of a suspect, “exigent circumstances” have also been the grounds for faithful Bishops, clergy and laity to take emergency action to guard the faith and order of the Church. I recently wrote about Exigent Circumstances in the Anglican Communion, citing the works of Paul Avis, Francis Oakley and Brian Tierney for the precedent of such “emergency action” which we see in the development of  the great reforming Councils of the Roman Catholic Church during the Great Schism (1378-1417).

There are four conditions for such emergency action that I cited in that article...

Canon Andy Lines to be Consecrated as ACNA missionary bishop to Europe

Missionary Bishop introduced by Archbishop Foley Beach
08 Jun 2017
Today the Synod of the Scottish Episcopal Church voted to finalise a change to their canons that attempts to redefine marriage.  This action further marginalises faithful Anglicans in Scotland who uphold Jesus’ teaching on marriage.

Recognising the pastoral need that arose following the initial SEC vote (in June 2016), in April of this year the Gafcon Primates authorised the consecration of a Missionary Bishop to care for those who seek to remain faithful to the scriptures and Jesus’ teaching on marriage.

Today at a press conference in Edinburgh, Scotland, Archbishop Foley Beach, speaking on behalf of the Primates Council, introduced the new Missionary Bishop...
Conservative Anglicans have announced a controversial 'missionary bishop' to provide oversight for parishes unable to accept the decision of the Scottish Episcopal Church (SEC) to accept gay marriage.

The landmark vote, passed by a two-thirds majority across all three parts of the SEC synod, sets it at odds with most Anglicans around the world.

Gay marriage in Scottish Episcopal Church: GAFCON announces 'missionary bishop' as split looms Within minutes of the vote, the conservative grouping GAFCON announced Canon Andy Lines as a 'missionary bishop' to oversee traditionalist parishes who want to defect from the official Scottish Anglican church.

Canon Lines' appointment, revealed by Christian Today on Wednesday, effectively sets up a potential split with parishes given the option to stay under the episcopal authority of the SEC or look instead to GAFCON's alternative Anglican structure...

Are Jihadists Taking over Europe?
◾In the four European countries most targeted by terror attacks -- Britain, France, Belgium and Germany -- the number of official extremists has reached 66,000. That sounds like a real army -- on active duty.
◾The terrorists' ransom is already visible: they have destabilized the democratic process in many European countries and are drafting the terms of freedom of expression. A jihadist takeover of Europe is no longer unthinkable. Islamic extremists are already reaping what they sowed: they successfully defeated Geert Wilders and Marine Le Pen, the only two European candidates who really wanted to fight radical Islam.

The Bible is the revelation of God to display his character and to show what it means to live in conformity to him. It is an inestimable privilege to have access to the mind and will of God. Yet while many people pay homage to the Bible, few love it. How can you know if your love for the Bible goes beyond a mere passing fancy? Here are a few ways to measure whether or not you truly love the Word...

Opposing the Transgender Craze: How to Become a Scientific Heretic   ...Today, McHugh has been labeled a heretic of psychiatry. What did he do to deserve that label? Well, in 1979 he ended “sex reassignment surgeries” at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, saying that “producing a ‘satisfied’ but still troubled patient seemed an inadequate reason for surgically amputating normal organs.”

Later, in an influential essay in The Wall Street Journal, McHugh pointed to a study from Sweden showing suicide rates in those who had undergone such procedures to be 20-fold higher than in the “non-transgender population.”

He also cited a study showing that 70 to 80 percent of children with transgender feelings who received no medical or surgical treatment spontaneously lost those feelings. McHugh writes, “Given that close to 80% of such children would abandon their confusion and grow naturally into adult life if untreated, these medical interventions come close to child abuse.”

And for this, he’s been labeled a “transphobe.” And worse....

The Strange Harmony Between Secular Left and Radical Islam ...The puzzling question remains: "What do the secular left and Islamists have in common?" Moreover, why are these two groups frequently drawn seemingly to harmonize on actions and plans so easily? After all, the disparities between the secular left and Islamists are truly overwhelming...

Union Time on the Taxpayer Dime; Prioritize Your Church...more

Tense Days for Union Time on the Taxpayer Dime
Elizabeth McDargh earns a six-figure salary and generous benefits as a senior environmental officer for the Department of Housing and Urban Development. But she’s the first to admit that on some days she spends little time doing any environmental work.

She is not alone. Although no one in government even keeps track, thousands of such federal employees do not do their stated jobs. The IRS alone was reported to have more than 200 such employees, according to documents...

The Transgender Revolution and the Rubble of Empty Promises
Over the last year, transgender issues have been at the forefront of national news. Last year President Barack Obama issued a directive to public schools on how to accomodate transgender students in school restrooms. The debate over this action was reignited a few months ago when President Trump rescinded the directive, and the Supreme Court declined to hear a case regarding transgender students and restrooms.

Yet while these and other policy questions are important, the cultural conversation on gender identity issues requires more than good policy. It demands a gospel-centered response from the church...

Challies: Prioritize Your Church
...The local church is central to God’s plan for the world. In fact, in many ways the local church is God’s plan for the world. Much of what God means to teach the world, he teaches through the local church; much of what he means to display to the world, he displays through the local church; much of what he means to accomplish in the world, he accomplishes through the local church. No ministry can outshine it, no program can replace it, no power can topple it. The local church is God’s plan, and he has no backup.

God means for each Christian to be involved in a local church, and his Word knows nothing of Christians who will not be part of one. The local church welcomes into membership those who believe and puts out those who have abandoned the faith, so that each church is a community of Christians bound together by their common profession of faith...

Battle for Britain’s Soul
News of yet another terrorist attack will have had a numbing effect on many of us. The fact that seven died at London Bridge, and that it once again brought back memories of the 7/7 horror of 2005 when my brother was among the severely injured, only added to feelings of despair and sadness just as a concert was being held in Manchester in memory of the 22 who died there less than a fortnight earlier.

But we have lost God’s protective cover because we have stopped serving him; we have said we don’t want him or his laws; and this has made us particularly vulnerable to attack...

Texas Gov. Signs Bill Banning Dismemberment Abortions Tearing Babies Limb From Limb Texas Senate Bill 8 prohibits dismemberment abortions, a method typically used in the second trimester to kill nearly fully-formed, living unborn babies. It is a barbaric and dangerous procedure in which the unborn baby is ripped apart in the womb and pulled out in pieces while his or her heart is still beating.

State Sen. Charles Schwertner, who wrote the bill, said the legislation will “ensure the dignity and protection for the unborn child” in Texas...

Former transgenders share sex change regret stories; Anthem will drop out of Ohio's Obamacare market...more

Seven States Have Just One Abortion Clinic Remaining, And They are All Failing ...Recently, Vice published a puff piece on seven abortion businesses that have the distinction of being the only (and, we hope, last) one operating in their respective states. The article consists entirely of quotes from the owners/staffers of these facilities, with no fact checking or context whatsoever. I can’t even call it journalism.

Most egregiously, Vice failed to include any information about the health and safety records of these final facilities. So we’ve done the work for them...

See iconic D-Day black and white photos brought to life in color On the 73rd anniversary of the D-Day invasion, black and white photos newly rendered in color bring history to life.

Anthem will drop out of Ohio's Obamacare market; 18 counties could be left with no ACA plan A big Obamacare shoe just dropped in Ohio.

Health insurer Anthem said Tuesday it will effectively exit its Obamacare individual plan business in Ohio, leaving potentially 18 counties in the Buckeye State with no insurer selling plans in 2018.

Anthem, which sells Obamacare plans in 14 states this year, left open the door to dropping out of other states next year...

After London Bridge, World Is Sick Of Politicians Downplaying Terrorism   ...But whenever political leaders do dare to talk candidly about some of these problems, there’s intense pushback and outrage. Take Trump’s travel ban. Like it or hate it, the ban was aimed at curbing immigration from countries that are de facto failed states. These are places where a terrorist could easily go unnoticed by whatever remnant of a security service remains and fly to the United States undetected. When Trump unveiled his travel ban earlier this year, America practically devoured itself with protests at airports, counter-protests, and a wave of lawsuits. The reaction robbed us of any real chance of having a conversation about the ways in which we might need to reconsider our immigration policies for the sake of national security...

A.S. Haley: Trumphooey
In the face of yet another onslaught from the never-Trump, ever-snorting boars (actually, bores) in the media, echoed by world so-called leaders from Europe and elsewhere, and by the brainwashed Democrats who can still commandeer a platform for a statement, it is time to pour another dose of cold reality onto the overheated political front.

Briefly: behind the Gadarene rush to condemn President Trump's announcement that he will no longer abide by the provisions of the Paris Agreement signed by President Obama is nothing more than political posturing. The campaign is designed only to spread rampant disinformation in an effort to undermine Trump's public support.

At the same time, the remarkable breadth and effrontery of this campaign is highly revealing of the motives of those behind it. There is no science (understood properly, as a prediction of what will happen when a process is repeated) to back their claims. Instead, there is a consensus of the like-minded and like-motivated, around the moniker of "climate change" (after all, who in his right mind could disagree that the climate changes over time?), that is propped up by highly flexible (and debatable) computer models.

Former transgenders share sex change regret stories in new documentary   A new documentary shares the untold stories of a group of people whose existence many try to deny, or simply don't know exist: those who underwent "sex change" operations but then experienced regret and ended up accepting their biological sex.

TranZformed: Finding Peace with Your God-Given Gender will be released June 15. Pure Passion Media and Mastering Life Ministries are behind the film...
